Hearth Cooking Class: Poultry Three Ways
Noah Webster House - 227 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT, United States
Step back in time and experience the satisfaction of making your own food from scratch. Before the advent of modern kitchen conveniences like self-rising flour and the Instapot, preparing a meal for your family took time, effort, and culinary know-how. Slow down the pace, start from scratch, and experience historic cooking at the Noah Webster House this spring in a series of Historic Hearth Cooking Classes led by Becky Hendricks, historic food researcher with over 20 years experience as a living historian.
Learn how to bone a Cornish game hen, make your own noodles, cook over an open fire, and more! The class and instructor will select three poultry dishes to prepare choosing from items like Boneless Roast Game Hens with Prune-Pecan Stuffing, Chicken in Stewed Red Wine, and Chicken in a White Fricassee.
You will do it all, from set up to clean up. At the end of the class, enjoy your feast and take leftovers home with you!
Classes are for those age 12 and up. (Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.)
The cost is $50 per person plus a $15 material fee.
