The Hanging of Rebecca

A Staged Reading

Noah Webster House - 227 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT, United States

You are invited to a staged reading of a new play by author Debra Walsh. The Hanging of Rebecca explores the fear and devastation wrought by the Connecticut witch trials that took place in the mid 1600s. This hysteria predated the more widely know Salem witch trials by nearly thirty years and resulted in 37 cases and 11 executions. The play tells the stories of the accused and accuser and reveals the fate of three women caught in this terrifying phase in Connecticut history.

This is a staged reading lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Directed by Bryan Swormstedt. Musical score by Patrick 'Klokwise' O'Sullivan and Debra Walsh.

Advance tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for museum members, seniors, and students. All tickets are $12 when purchased at the door.
